Charlotte Opens Up About Her Life, Family and Career in Emotional Interview

Charlotte Flair took part in emotional interview with Arash Markazi from ESPN where she spoke about her life, family and career.

On opening up, hiding behind her on-screen character:

“I was very hesitant to open up about my past because I feel like for the past five years I’ve been hiding behind this character, Charlotte, that I’ve created. This character isn’t vulnerable and she’s not relatable. So I let down my guard and said, ‘OK, this is Ashley, and I am vulnerable and I am relatable and I’ve been through all these things that I’m ashamed of.’ I just committed to it and it was extremely therapeutic, and it took me two years to work on it. I just hope it saves someone’s life.”

On her first husband, Riki, who was abusive towards her:

“Riki was the hardest to write about. It was hard because I never dealt with it. I’m embarrassed and ashamed and why would I let myself go through something like that? If you would have talked to me six months ago, I probably wouldn’t have gotten through the interview without crying. I was still so raw, and even when talking about Reid I can feel it in my throat but I’m stronger now.”

On her beloved brother, Reid:

“I spent all this time trying to save Reid’s life but ultimately he saved mine. I couldn’t save my brother’s life and that’s something you have to learn through addiction; only they can make that decision. Reid never got to see me wrestle. I’m doing something that he wanted to do every single day of his life. How did he not get to see me wrestle? It’s not fair. It just stinks, you know?”

On addressing subjects like addiction and being the victim of domestic violence in the new book with her father:

“I’m not ashamed. I went through all of these things and I’ve come out on the other end stronger. Through the two years of writing this I’d be like, ‘Oh, this is a good idea, bad idea, good idea, bad idea.’ I’d be going to work thinking about the boys and are they going to look at me different because they don’t know this about me? I had a friend who I’ve known for five years at WWE come up to me and say, ‘I didn’t know you were married twice.’ I just haven’t opened up. If someone would have known me five years ago and read this book and to know where I am today, it’s the most unlikely journey. I literally had no idea what I was getting myself into when I showed up at FCW in Tampa.”

On what her father means to the wrestling business:

“I didn’t realize what my dad meant to wrestling until his Hall of Fame speech. Everyone was standing up and chanting, ‘Thank you Ric!’ and I said, ‘Wow, I guess he is kind of a big deal.”

On her ‘WrestleMania‘ moment:

“When I was at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, before going out for our match, I looked at Becky [Lynch] and Sasha at Gorilla and I was thinking, ‘Man, they worked their whole life to be here.’ It’s always crazy to me to see people live out their dream. I can’t say that I’m living out my dream because at 16 I was thinking about what college I wanted to go to and if I was going to be in a sorority. It wasn’t my dream. It was my brother’s dream.”

On her transformation over the years:

“It’s crazy. Back at WrestleMania 24, Sasha and I sat across from each other. She was there for Snoop, and I was front row for my dad. We didn’t know each other. Fast-forward to last year and there we were, main eventing Hell in Cell. That’s so crazy. It’s been an amazing journey.”

Take a look back at the match between Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Charlotte at ‘WrestleMania 32.’ We highly suggest you check it out to see how these women created the women’s revolution and are still growing as performers.

Major Hollywood Superstar Given Offer to Play Vince McMahon in Upcoming Biopic

Lights, Camera, McMahon?

It had been previously reported that WWE Studios is teaming with TriStar to release a biopic on the life of Vince McMahon. According to a new report from PWInsider, actor Bradley Cooper has been given an offer to play “the boss” in the upcoming film.

It is unknown at this time if Cooper is interested in the role.

This would not be his first time to be involved in WWE; he appeared briefly on an episode of “Raw” in June 2007, to promote the feature film version of “The A-Team.” You can see a highlight below:

[This post contains video, click to play]

From the article:

The script to Pandemonium was written by Craig A. Williams (who wrote Disney’s live action Underdog adaptation few years back) back in 2015 and has undergone several drafts. The belief was that once WWE Studios became involved with the project, the existing script would undergo heavy rewrites to remove some of aspects of the film that the McMahon family would not be happy with.

Editor’s Note:

Why the heck not? Cooper is a very talented actor, and besides, who wouldn’t want the opportunity to strut like a champ, and say “YOU’RE FIRED!” in a motion picture?

Breezango on How They Formed, Their Future and More

Case closed. Over the last few months, Breezango’s “Fashion Files” have become a major highlight of “Smackdown Live”. They’ve gone from a goofy idea to one of the best things the show offers and have made both members of the team far bigger stars than they would have been otherwise.

In a new interview with Dualshockers.com, Tyler Breeze and Fandango talked about their newfound success, their future goals as a team and what brought them together in the first place. While not specifically said, they also give a hint about when their current storyline could be wrapping up. Here are some highlights.

On a Potential Future Title Shot

Breeze: I would hope so, man. You know, we’re busy with the [Fashion] Files and everything. Solving cases throughout the WWE. Eventually, The New Day and the Usos got to wrap it up and they need new people to face. We already had a couple run-ins with the Usos and I think people want to see more.

On When the Storyline Might End

Fandango: I think post Hell in a Cell, when they kind of finish their business, and we wrap up our case here that we’ve been working on, maybe we’ll set our sights on those tag team titles.

Here’s how Breezango can do outside of their office:

[This post contains video, click to play]

And on How the Team Was Formed

Breeze: Yeah, it had been brought up a couple times and it was one of those things where he was doing nothing; I was doing nothing; we were just tossed together to see what happens. I don’t even know if they were banking on us clicking the way we did. Especially stumbling upon something like Fashion Files that took off and people really enjoy it. It was, kind of, a lot of luck and one of those things you try real hard at.

Fandango: We were hearing rumblings of “maybe we will throw you with this cat,” and I said, “cool.” And the rest is history.

You can read the full interview here.

Opinion: The team has done far better than I ever would have believed them capable of and it’s always interesting to see what happens when you throw people together. They have outstanding chemistry together and the “Fashion Files” have been some of the most entertaining things WWE has produced in a long time. Hopefully we see more of them for a good while to come.

Who do you think has been attacking Breezango? Will they win the Tag Team Titles? Let us know in the comments below.

Watch: What Happens When ‘Raw’ Goes Off The Air?

While programming has to go off the air at some point, it doesn’t mean that the cameras do.

WWE has released a new video on their YouTube channel which shows some of the top moments that have occurred once “Raw” has gone off of the air. Some of these clips features superstars such as The Rock, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Shield and more.

You can watch the full video below:

[This post contains video, click to play]

The video was inspired by the recent beatdown of Enzo Amore at the hands of Braun Strowman and the entire Cruiserweight division after “Raw” went off the air last week. Not surprisingly, that attack is on the countdown.

Editor’s Note:

While the video was produced because of the recent storylines of “205 Live,” it’s always neat to see what happens once “Raw” goes off of the air. It’s often a time where superstars can “let their hair down a bit” and give you a bit of an insight into how entertaining they can be outside of their on-screen personalities.

What were some of your favorite post-Raw moments? Leave us a comment below, or post a comment on our Facebook page! We also want to remind you that we have a Newsletter you can sign up to. This will allow us to send you the best news in one place via an email!

[This post contains video, click to play]

On return to WWE as the “Raw” General Manager:

“I don’t know for sure but my guess was Vince knew if I kept my head on straight and made the right decisions, he was going to bring me back at some stage after the Hall of Fame,” Angle said.

“Mick Foley having surgery — I was in the right place at the right time and took over the GM spot.

On who he would like to face if he returns to the ring:

“There’s talent I’ve wrestled already like HHH, (John) Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and ones I haven’t,” he said.

Randy Orton: “I’m Sick of This Babyface Thing”

Randy Orton recently appeared on an episode of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, where he discussed a number of topics. Kevin Owens, and his current status with the company were among the topics discussed.

Below are some highlights from the interview:

On his physical condition:

“I’m always up and down when it comes to my body,” Orton admitted. “It’s stressful, it is.”

On Kevin Owens’ physique:

“I guess Kevin Owens has it figured out. He started fat and he’ll finish fat,” Orton said with a laugh. “He’s trying to get himself over as the fat guy that can fight. Bless his heart, that’s great. I’m jealous.”

[This post contains video, click to play]

On his current status and character in WWE:

“I love it and I’m gonna use that, hopefully sooner than later when I turn heel again because I’m sick of this babyface thing, that’s for sure,” Orton said.

[h/t to WrestlingInc for the transcription]

Editor’s Note:

It’s no secret that “The Viper” works much better as a heel. He has one of the most sadistic and evil characters when he embraces that side of his personality.

Watch: Announcer Joins Shinsuke Nakamura for a Surf & Gourmet Meal

Smackdown Live‘ ring announcer Greg Hamilton has started a new YouTube channel and has subsequently released his first vlog with Shinsuke Nakamura on the channel.

The video shows both men in Hawaii going surfing and visiting restaurants together, just hanging out. You can view this video in a variety of perspectives, such as a ‘day in the life’ of both Nakamura and Hamilton or an educational video on what WWE talent does.

Regardless, this is a fantastic, interesting and well edited first video by Hamilton. We personally cannot wait to see what he does in the future with his new channel. We also ask that you subscribe and support him if possible, too. You can do that here.

We highly suggest watching the video if anything we mentioned above does interest you, as we are sure this video will definitely have you smiling as you watch.

Lucha Underground Results – September 27, 2017 (Ultima Lucha Tres Part One)

Lucha Underground
Date: September 27, 2017
Location: Lucha Underground Temple, Boyle Heights, California
Commentators: Vampiro, Matt Striker

It’s FINALLY time to wrap this season up with the first week of Ultima Lucha Tres. There are currently about 194 matches scheduled over the next four shows and that means it’s hard to say what to expect around here. They’ve done a great job of making this show feel important though and that’s what matters most. Let’s get to it.

We open with a recap of tonight’s matches, including Famous B. vs. Texano and Killshot vs. Dante Fox, the latter of which is built around being in the army together and Fox being left for dead.

Melissa Santos welcomes us to the show for a change of pace and Matt Striker is even more excited than usual.

Vampiro runs down the Hell of War match, which means Three Stages of Hell with First Blood, No DQ and Medical Evac (Ambulance match).

Famous B. vs. Texano

If B. wins, Texano has to join his team but he’s coming in with a broken arm. Therefore, Dario Cueto has made this a handicap match.

Famous B./Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Texano

Wagner has his mask here because it was shot over a year ago. Texano and Wagner trade backdrops to start until Texano monkey flips him across the ring. A slingshot hilo connects and B.’s cast shot has no effect. The distraction lets Wagner stomp him down though and Wagner gets two off a backsplash. B. comes in and stomps away while wanting to know why Texano won’t just sign. Texano fights back with a sitout powerbomb on Texano but he’s not legal. Instead Brenda gets up on the apron to kiss Texano, allowing B. to roll him up for the pin at 4:22.

Result: Famous B./Dr. Wagner Jr. b. Texano –

The announcers run down more of the card.

Killshot vs. Dante Fox

After a break, the first fall begins with a First Blood match. They waste no time in heading outside as this is going to be all about the violence. There’s already a ladder bridged between the apron and barricade but Fox would rather throw a chair at his head. A shooting star from the apron crushes Killshot on the ladder to get the crowd even more into this. Fox chairs him in the head but can’t quite bust him open yet. Back in and Killshot hammers away but misses an apron legdrop.

Fox puts the chair around Killshot’s neck and dives off the barricade with a legdrop to the apron. They’re going straight for the violence here and that’s the right call. Fox pulls out a sheet of glass and bridges it over two chairs but Killshot catches him with a Rock Bottom onto the apron for a breather. Back in and Fox grabs a springboard C4 before throwing the glass and chairs into the ring. They head to the top with Killshot loading up a super Pedigree, only to be backdropped through the glass, drawing blood from the back for the first fall at 10:24.

The second fall is No DQ and Killshot’s back is COVERED in blood. Dante puts an unfolded chair upside down in the corner and brings in a ladder. Oh this can’t end well. Like at all. A running springboard C4 through the chair only gives Dante two so he bridges the ladder over the ropes. Killshot is laid over said ladder for a 450 and another near fall, making me worried about what it’s going to take to finish this.

Killshot is back with a superkick and DDT out of the corner for two more. Fans: “FIGHT FOREVER!” It’s time for a barbed wire board (Striker: “The ancient Aztec torture rack!”) with Killshot setting it up in the corner. Killshot’s top rope double stomp only gets one but a running powerbomb through the barbed wire….doesn’t even get a cover. Instead Killshot grabs something like a One Winged Angel (without sitting Fox on his shoulders) ONTO THE BROKEN GLASS for the second fall at 6:14.

The third fall, an Ambulance match, begins after a break with Fox suplexing both of them over the top and out to the floor. Killshot is up first and drags a stretcher towards Fox as Striker accurately talks about the potential for infections on the dirty floor. With nothing else working, Killshot hits a super Death Valley Driver from the middle rope onto the stretcher on the floor, leaving a piece of Fox’s skin on the stretcher.

Fox starts kicking his way off the stretcher so Killshot hits the double stomp off the barricade. It only gets Fox free though and they fight around to the front of the ambulance, which is backed into the entrance. Since they’ve done everything else, they head up to the bandstand where Fox chokes him with a cord.

Killshot throws him off though, sending him through another sheet of glass, which Dario apparently set up just in case they needed extra violence. Since Fox is basically dead, Killshot sends him into the ambulance for the win at 8:39 (34:54 counting commercials).

Result: Killshot b. Dante Fox Two Falls to One (34:54)
