After being forced to retire from in-ring competition, WWE officials have Paige the role of SmackDown Live’s General Manager. The WWE Universe was thrilled to see her back on WWE television so quickly because there was some speculation that she wouldn’t be on Raw or SmackDown Live anymore. That was a nice surprise for the WWE Universe.
There were critics who questioned if she could transition into an authoritative role on SmackDown Live. According to a new report from PWInsider Elite Audio, WWE officials feel she’s done a great job as the SmackDown GM. They are said to be extremely happy with her performance over her first two months in the position.
The movie about Paige’s life, Fighting With My Family, will be released next March. That is going to be heavily promoted by the company, so it’s important to showcase Paige in a key role on WWE television. Her contract will also be up next year, so she has a year to create opportunities for herself outside of WWE, or she could remain with the company.
She is also returning to Total Divas for the show’s eighth season. Her wrestling career is over for the time being, but WWE officials are utilizing her as much as possible. Paige’s role as the SmackDown GM is expected to change over time as well. She won’t wrestle, but that didn’t stop Daniel Bryan from building rivalries during his time in the position.
Paige also brings a ton of extra attention to the Women’s Division since she’s one of the pioneers of the movement. Thus far, it seems she’s doing an excellent job in the role and it’s only been two months. The General Manager of SmackDown Live is only going to get more comfortable in the role.
How do you feel about Paige’s performance as the SmackDown GM thus far?
