Maybe Shane isn’t great. The big story on “Smackdown Live” is hit or miss at best at the moment. Having the boss vs. the two upstart heels is fine, but how heelish are the people we’re supposed to be booing? At the moment it’s not quite clicking and that could make for some issues with the fans. Are they still interested enough to keep watching or are they just waiting for something fresh?
According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Smackdown Live” drew a .76 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.493 million viewers. Both of these numbers are down 7% from last week’s .82 rating and 2.68 million viewers. This week’s show was headlined by Randy Orton vs. Sami Zayn with Kevin Owens handcuffed to the rope at ringside.
Miss the show? Here are some highlights.
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised as last week’s show wasn’t all that thrilling. The Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn feud isn’t exactly lighting the world on fire and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. It doesn’t help that AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal hasn’t been the best thing in the world. Hopefully that wraps up at the pay per view and we move on to anyone else challenging Styles for the title.
Why do you think the show’s audience went down? Which is the bigger problem? Let us know in the comments below.
